..And that’s a wrap! – 2012 in a nutshell
2012 was an epic year in camp Relatives.
Our tally of around 70 gigs has seen us go from Taranaki to Nelson, the Marlborough sounds, Taupo, the mighty Wairarapa and many other beautiful locations that our country has to offer.
The year started with The Sevens, upstairs in The Redhead at Molly Malones. This year we will see you there for a repeat effort.
St. Patricks day also had us upstairs at Mollies, where once again madness ensued. We are in The Redhead for St. Patties this year for all those keen to pay homage to this Irish icon on Sunday the 17th of March.
Our debut in both Taupo and Nelson, was amazing. We look forward to returning sometime in 2013 if not in the future.
We tried our hand at philanthropy by participating in Dry July and Movember, pooling a few hundred dollars for charity and hopefully raising some awareness of the dangers caused by Alcohol Abuse and Testicular Cancer.
Of the most notable moments in 2012 – The guy that jumped out the window headfirst at Mollies deserves our special award:
- High five of 2012
Captain America and his Superhero friends are runners up, simply because the day was saved as soon as they entered the building.
And The Sevens had to creep in there somewhere. The vast array of crazy costumes, party antics, sheer volume of people and of course Katz and his Bumblebee suit.
This year has been all about you guys: Good times, lunacy, a bit of madness and many repeat efforts that we really, truly appreciate. You all know who you are.
We love what we do simply because it makes you guys happy. Seeing you have the time of your life, whether or not it has anything to do with us at all, is basically what keeps us going and will keep us moving forward in the future. Thank you.
Hold tight for some exciting news that we will be announcing officially in a few weeks time.
In the meantime, enjoy January and we will see you at Mollies for The Sevens, our first public appearance for about a month.
Peace, and happy 2013!
Simon, Steve, Hikurangi and Blair.
