Mid-winter solstice
The shortest day of the year is a great time to have a mid-winter event!
We’ve been enjoying the change of season while travelling around playing a variety of balls, awards ceremonies with a wedding or two in-between just to keep us on our toes.
Remember that band ‘The Holidaymakers’ from the 80’s?
Here’s their song to jog your memory:
A few weeks ago we were given the opportunity to play this song with one of the original members! This made Simon smile on the inside and out.
Wellington City Council put on a circus themed event for their mid-winter ball. They had tarot readers, circus dancers and every character you could ever expect to see all with a 1920’s vintage feel. Goofing around was a fun idea at the time.
And finally we were the live band at the Pride in Print awards ceremony at the TSB arena. Si & Steve were as tall as 3 story buildings all night. Pretty much as tall as Blair.
Special mention to Pump Dance studios who put on an awesome performance during the ceremony.
We’re currently in the throes of ball season with a sprinkling of weddings in between just for fun which means you should seize any opportunity to see us at a bar as they are few and far between.
Our next public event is at 1841 on the 4th of July. Bring your friends and enjoy Johnsonville hospitality!
If you need a band for your event / function / to serenade you while you’re doing the awesome walk, flick Steve an email: meet.the.relatives@gmail.com
Peace.
Si, Steve, Blair & Tony.
