“The Relatives recently played at our wedding on the 26th of January in beautiful Mapua, Nelson. Two members played three songs during the ceremony, then the whole band played at the reception.
We absolutely LOVED them. The music at the ceremony was so perfect and sounded beautiful. They did such an amazing job of the songs we’d chosen for my walk up the aisle, signing the register, then the celebration song as James and I walked back down the aisle as a newly married couple. They really added to the amazing atmosphere of the ceremony.
The whole band then took to the stage at the Playhouse Theatre, our reception venue, and they rocked the place. They looked super cool up on stage – the lighting and set-up meant it felt like we were at a concert! And they packed the dance floor for the whole night, with two encore songs at the end….. We thought they were the most awesome wedding band we’ve heard, and we’ve been to a lot of weddings! They just seemed to know the right songs to pick for the audience, and they were heaps of fun too. We had HEAPS of comments from our guests about what an awesome band they were.
Simon was so friendly and helpful to deal with, and the band obviously gets heaps of enjoyment out of playing music.
We would highly recommend The Relatives to anyone wanting a fabulous band for their wedding who can get the whole place dancing the whole night long.”
