Live band at a wedding in paradise? Why not!
With wedding season in full swing, the band has been on the road to the not so far corners of our country breathing in some pretty amazing scenery.
Because of our location in Wellington, we are able to travel and play live as far as Nelson, and most places within the central North Island.
A recent noteworthy trip was to Furneaux lodge, in the Marlborough sounds.
We arrived in Picton at around 11.30 am after being the onboard entertainment for the Interislander.
The sun was shining, the harbor was as flat as a plate glass window and looking out you could see right across the sounds maybe 10 kilometers into the distance.
The next leg of the journey was an hour on the water taxi to Endeavour Inlet where we setup and waited for the party to start.
Who would have thought power, let alone live entertainment could travel to such a remote wedding?
Anyway, for those of you who have not been to the Marlborough Sounds before and are from New Zealand, give yourself a slap and book a trip now!
What we love about weddings like this is that we get to play in a marquee. In terms of sound quality, a marquee is the best possible environment to have a live band.
In technical terms, it ‘deadens the sound’. This means that it is not going to be as loud as you would expect, and the clarity of the band should be an improvement over a live indoor performance.
After a day of exploring the lodge, we played and made sure the party was jumping from the first minute. During the night we were pleased to have met Kansas’ biggest family (slight exaggeration), who were happy to entertain us in one of the most beautiful wedding venues outside of Wellington.
Getting up at 6am to get on the ferry was a challenge, but we got there in the end!
The ‘harsh’ realities of playing in a rock band.
Now we are back to reality and dealing with this torrential Wellington rain. Marvelous.
Anyway, we are lucky enough to have taken many bookings well into 2014.
You don’t want to miss out on an opportunity to hire one of the countries top cover bands.
Just think back to the last time you attended a wedding with a bad cover band, had to listen to the hits of Engelbert Humperdinck, Bananarama and all the outdated, bland songs that left that wedding reception seated for 3 hours. Take this opportunity to hire one of Wellingtons most talked about groups!
We love to entertain, can get the party humming from song one, and would hate for you to miss out on the best possible live entertainment for your special day!
If you are getting married, are planning your wedding and would like us to be your live entertainment, call now!
